I’m a big carb-lover. (Read about it here.) However, sometimes, I take that enjoyment for granted. Just think; with celiacs, some of the best carb-pleasures of mine would be forever out of my diet….. or would they?
Gluten-free bagels are sort of complicated to make. I tried to make them and wrote about it here. However, Udi’s has not only found a way to make them but found a way to make them delicious as well!
Allergy-Related Information: Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Nut-Free, Soy-Free
Pros: What can I say about bagels and appearance except that, as a New Yorker, I know what a real bagel looks like. These bagels are light and airy (yes, that’s texure too) but they rose well, are the normal size of a traditional bagel and appetizing in appearance.
Cons: No cons here, except I wish the bags of bagels held more than 4 bagels. I’m a bagel-a-day girl!
Pros: I am so impressed with the accurate bagel-taste of this product! This doesn’t taste like circle-shaped bread! They taste like bagels! I made one for Adam for breakfast, and although it’s been a few weeks since he’s had a bagel, he still remembers that they were really good.
Cons: I have to say I was a little disappointed with the overall flavor. They were pretty simple in flavor. I would have liked to taste more cinnamon in the cinnamon raisin flavor and tasted a little more of the grains in the twelve-grain.
Cons: They’re not as heavy-duty as traditional bagels… they’re light and airy, yes… but they’re almost a little too light to be filling.
What I Love
I definitely love the texture of these bagels. I love that they look and taste like real bagels! I love that my hubby loves them and that they offer options for his gluten-free lifestyle.
What I’d Improve
I’d definitely improve the flavor of these bagels by offering more options and by improving the current flavors.
